NEW MUSIC: Sam Smith – Lay Me Down

sam-smith-lay-me

At last, the extremely talented Sam Smith releases a studio version of his amazing solo single ‘Lay Me Down’. I’ve already posted my thoughts on this song when I posted the acoustic version earlier in the week. The studio version sounds just as amazing as the acoustic, and now I’m extremely excited to see what else this talent’s career will hold in the future!

NEW MUSIC: Prince – Screwdriver

Prince-screwdriver

The legend that is Prince is back with some amazing new music titled ‘Screwdriver’. This track is definitely everything that Prince is musically, and if you’ve heard any Prince song it fits just perfectly with it, I love every moment of it. While it has been a while since we have heard from Prince, rumor has it that he has big things planned for this year and I guess it begins with this track. I look forward to hearing and hopefully seeing the next stage in Prince’s career!

NEW MUSIC: Disclosure – White Noise [Ft. AlunaGeorge]

I’m so glad this happened.

2 of my very favorite groups have joined forces to make this masterpiece. This track is smooth and perfect in every way, and Aluna’s vocals just seem right over a beat like this. Disclosure is definitely gaining some major respect, first ‘Latch’, now ‘White Noise’, I’m definitely excited to hear their future tracks. There isn’t much else to say about this track, except for just listen to it!

NEW ACOUSTIC: Sam Smith – Lay Me Down

The amazing talent behind Disclosure’s ‘Latch‘, Sam Smith graces us with his first solo song, and while it’s just an acoustic, its freaking amazing. Sam Smith has vocals for days, and this video shows all of that and more. I am extremely excited for this man’s huge career ahead because ‘Latch’ is still on repeat to this day. SO GOOD!

NEW VIDEO: Ke$ha – C’Mon

Ke$ha returns with visuals for her next single off her ‘Warrior’ album titled ‘C’Mon’. The single is a pretty standard Ke$ha song, it has a big hook, and a fun beat. Definitely not my favorite song on the album, but the video is weirdly exciting. It pretty much just shows ke$ha getting groped by a lot of different people dressed as random animals. Anyway, Ke$ha still slays the pop music, so whatever!

NEW VIDEO: One Direction – Kiss You

As many of you know, I am a fan of One Direction, I have been since their X-Factor UK run. Their latest album, although there isn’t much musical progression, is full of hits. ‘Kiss You’ being one of the biggest tracks on there, it’s the formula for the perfect pop song, and it’s definitely fitting that the biggest pop boyband take the song. The video isn’t the greatest, but I wasn’t expecting much. It’s cute, and directed at their fanbase which makes sense, but nothing visionary.

One Direction may not be making many moves musically just yet, but their team knows what they are doing, and I definitely see some big/different things coming from them very soon.

NEW VIDEO: A*M*E – Play The Game Boy

This track has been on repeat for a couple of weeks now, just haven’t had the time to give it the proper post. A*M*E who was just shy of the top 5 BBC’s sound of 2013, coming at number 6. She brings us a catchy track that will surely get her some chart success. The track is fun, and will definitely stay in your head for a while, I look forward to hearing what else she will release in the next year.

NEW MUSIC: Shy Girls – Under Attack

Thank everyone on earth for Pinboard, who introduced me to this track. I haven’t heard much of Shy Girl’s stuff, but after this track I will be all over the research. This track is some smooth R&B, sounding a bit like Usher (at his prime) and Prince mixed to a perfect blend of pure earsex. I don’t really know how to explain how good this track is, but this post is just for the hope that people will listen to this masterpiece.
