NEW VIDEO: Sia – The Greatest [Ft. Kendrick Lamar]

Sia, receiving a slow burning chart topper with “Cheap Thrills”, has just graced us with another smash. “The greatest” is another self-empowerment track that we are used to hearing from the songstress. While the streaming version features the amazing Kendrick Lamar, the music video does not include him.

The video is a very powerful tribute to the victims in he Orlando shooting as you see them dropping at the end with what looks like bullet holes in the background, with a very eerie silence.

I much prefer the Kendrick version ,which I have included after the jump, but for radio purposes I see why she has released two separate versions. Sia definitely has another hit on her hands with “The Greatest”.

NEW MUSIC: Kanye West – No Parties in LA [Ft. Kendrick Lamar]

nmpila

Kanye West has returned to his G.O.O.D Friday days and has been giving us a new track every Friday, and after missing the deadline last week, he finally gives us the full version of the Kendrick assisted, “No More Parties in LA”.

This track definitely has old school Kanye vibes which was my favorite version of him, and of course Kendrick is a standout for me, so I’m loving this track. Kanye’s albumĀ Swish is due out Feb. 11th.

NEW MUSIC: Kendrick Lamar – I

kendrick

I’m not the biggest critic of rap/hip-hop music, but I do have mad respect for Kendrick Lamar. Aside from the ‘rappers’ that rule the charts these days, Kendrick keeps it different and real. I loved his previous album, and now he releases what will probably be a huge track this year from his upcoming album. ‘I’ is hard hitting, and samples the Isley Brothers, giving it a sort of outkast kind of feel, which is a great comparison. There is nothing out there right now that sounds like this, and I fully support Kendrick after this track, and can’t wait to hear what else he has for this next album!

NEW MUSIC: Robin Thicke – Give It To Me [Ft.2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar]

Robin Thicke definitely caught my attention with the release of Blurred Lines, and got me extremely excited for his upcoming album. Now with the release of his most recent efforts ‘Give It To Me’, he has made a complete 180 as far as sound goes. The beat is produced by “hitmaker” Will.I.Am, and features 2 chainz and Kendrick Lamar. While the song as a whole is actually straight fire, I’m not sure how I feel about him loosing all his soul. I understand why he has done it, it has been a long time since he has had a radio hit, and money is money. I still think Evolution of Robin Thicke is/will always be one of his best albums to date, but let’s see how this album goes!

NEW MUSIC: Kendrick Lamar – The Recipe [Ft. Dr. Dre]

One of the few rappers I listen to these days, Kendrick Lamar, has released his debut single from his album and it features the legend, Dr. Dre. I haven’t been turned on too a lot of rap lately because of all the mainstream radio rap that has been going out in the past 5 or so years, so its definitely refreshing to hear real rap for once from Kendrick.

Kendrick Lamar is set to release his debut album later this year, and if he continues down this path, I’m more than certain that it will be amazing.
