NEW VIDEO: Belly – Might Not [Ft. The Weeknd]

I have no idea who Belly is, he is some Canadian rapper, and that is all my knowledge on him. I’m here for The Weeknd, who recently has lost my interest since he has teamed up with hit maker Max Martin who gave The Weeknd a HUGE hit with, ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’. I feel like he lost something when he became mainstream, that isn’t saying that they aren’t great songs. To this day, ‘High For This’, is one of my favorite songs from him, and that album mixtape was fantastic.

Whoever this rapper is, has managed to bring what I love from The Weeknd back. He doesn’t really hold anything back lyrically, and his flow is definitely a lot closer to his earlier days, which is what I love.

Here is to hoping that The Weeknd takes his money from this album and goes back to his roots.

NEW VIDEO: Grace -You Don’t Own Me [Ft. G-Eazy]

Grace was very close to being one of artists to watch for 2016, but like I stated in the post, there was just too much talent for one post and I didn’t want anyone getting overwhelmed.

With that being said, I give you Grace. ‘You Don’t Me’ has a little Alessia Cara vibe, but with way more attitude and soul. I have really grown to love this track, and it is gaining quite a bit of success overseas in the UK.  Her vocals are quite impressive, but aren’t quite showcased in this track. She has a few more tracks, including the amazing ballad ‘Boyfriend Jeans’ which definitely shows off her raw and soulful vocals.

I see a huge upcoming year for her, check out her other tracks after the jump!

JUST WATCH: Troye Sivan – Hands to Myself / Sorry (Acoustic Cover)

Troye Sivan is such a talent, watch him brilliantly flow two of today’s biggest songs together into one fantastic mash-up. He takes on Selena Gomez’s ‘Hands To Myself’ while adding in a little bit of Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’.

His vocals are so smooth and unique its kind of unbelievable. If you haven’t checked out his debut album, Blue Neighbourhood, that should be your next move after listening to the acoustic goodness above!

JUST WATCH: Craig David – When The Bassline Drops (Acoustic)

CraigDavid

This post is purely because this acoustic version is absolutely amazing. Craig David disappeared from the scene from far too long, but now is his time. If you haven’t heard ‘When The Bassline Drops‘ in its studio form yet, you are seriously missing out.

Now the great SBTV has given us a video that will be on repeat for quite some time. Craig sounds just as smooth over the acoustic guitar line of his comeback single, and it is pretty much everything.

If that isn’t enough Craig David for you, he recently did a FREESTYLE over Drake’s Hotline Bling and Stormzy’s ‘Shut Up‘. Check that out below!

NEW VIDEO: The 1975 – UGH!

The 1975 has been catching a lot of my attention recently, with their fantastic new era of funk-pop. Their previous release, ‘Love Me‘ is still a big track on my playlist, and now they give me even more life with their super funky ‘UGH!’.

At moments this track channels a little old school Daft Punk sounds but with a more pop-rock sound. Their album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it (yes, that is the entire album title), is due out early next year, and if this is the direction they are going in, I’m all ears!

NEW VIDEO: Chris Brown – Anyway x Back To Sleep x Wrist

chris-brown-royalty

With his new album, Royalty, dropping in just a couple of days, Chris Brown gives us three new music videos as a sort of hype up for his album. Breezy dropped his videos for ‘Back To Sleep’ and ‘Wrist’ the past 2 days and now to finish it off he gives us, one of my favorite tracks I have heard so far, ‘Anyway’.

I was a little indifferent when I first heard the album title was dedicated to his new found daughter, and then his first track was ‘Back To Sleep’. Then the more I started hearing more cuts, and after the drop of his BTP mixtape, I was sold. Each track has its own flavor, ‘Back To Sleep’ giving us definite baby making vibes; ‘Wrist’ is definitely more on the trap music side; and ‘Anyway’ gives us a little dance, almost sounding a little like ‘Yeah 3x’ at times.

I know I said Top 40 dance Breezy wasn’t my favorite, but the beat to ‘Anyway’ almost sounds diplo produced which gives it a hip hop flavor, and don’t even get me started on the video.

Chris Brown has my support for Royalty. Check out all 3 videos below!

NEW MUSIC: Nimmo – UnYoung

NIMMO

I have just recently stumbled upon the electronic group that goes by Nimmo. I recently posted about their fantastic banger, ‘Dilute This‘, and now they grace us with even more new music. ‘UnYoung’ has a very different vibe than ‘Dilute This’, it sounds a lot smoother and they let their harmonies ride over a constant piano beat that gives the track life.

While the song is a little dark, in a way, they manage to keep it sounding light hearted and upbeat which is something that I give them a lot of credit for. I can’t wait to hear what else they bring to the table because I have been a fan of everything so far!

Long Live Music’s ones to watch of 2016

Top 5

Now that the year is coming to a close and we approach another year of new music and new artists emerging from everywhere, it is time that we look at a few of the artists that we think will do big things in 2016. Now of course we have the obvious choices that are featured everywhere such as Alessia Cara and Jess Glynne, but we,here at LLM, consider their years to be already at a rise.

So we wanted to feature the handful of artists that may not get the most recognition but yet, are releasing music that, we feel, everyone will love. Below we have, what we consider to be, our top 5 artists of 2016.

First let me say that this definitely wasn’t an easy choice narrowing it down to 5, we considered doing a top 10 but that would have been too much. If you aren’t impressed with any of them, be sure to stay tuned to LLM because our other runner up’s may just be featured soon!

Check out the list below the jump!

NEW EP: MAX – Wrong

MAX_Wrong_Album-Art-1449781411

I haven’t made much noise about the talent that is known as MAX. He caught my attention a little under a year ago with his fantastic and catchy smash,’Gibberish‘ featuring Hoodie Allen. Since then he has just slowly been releasing bangers, and now he gives us a listen at some new music. He premiered his new EP, Wrong, over at MTV a couple of days ago, and it is filled with some huge tracks.

This guy is more than just a dance hit, his vocal ability is raw and definitely shines on the track ‘That Kind of Love’. He also graces us with a fantastic remix of his smash ‘Gibberish’, featuring Travie McCoy, which has been dubbed the Patrick Stump remix, from Fall Out Boy.

Here is to hoping this guy has a huge year in 2016, because he deserves it!
