Remember Nina Sky? yeah well they are coming back stronger than ever with an all new vibe, and I love every bit of it. There most recent collaboration with Creep was definitely one of my big tracks of last year, and now they are back with a smoother R&B vibe track. Day Dreaming is a mix of trance and r&b, and I’m looking forward to hearing more from them, check it!
The vocals behind the smash hit ‘Written In The Stars‘ is prepping his debut, and this is his first single off his album due out this year! He enlisted 2 of his previous collaborators to bring what could very well be a smash hit in the UK.
Good video, better song, something about his voice.
Looks like M.I.A. is taking every bit of spotlight from Madonna, and I’m glad she is. This video is miles better than Madonna’s, and so is the song. I wasn’t too fond of it at first, but it has really grown on me, and I love it! The video is created by the same mind behind ‘Born Free’. The video just shows M.I.A. doing her thing. Enjoy!
I think the last Madonna song I liked was ‘4 Minutes’ partly because of Justin Timberlake. This video really makes no sense to me, all I got out of it was Madonna landing in a bunch of football players arms, or being carried by them. M.I.A is the best thing about this song, she looks good and her 2 line verse is awesome! I don’t see this track going anywhere on the charts, but maybe that superbowl performance will help it out.
X-factor winner has released some new music just a little bit ago, its basically a remake of The queen Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’ in Dance form version. I don’t think this is off her album or anything, but this is the track from her ever so famous Superbowl Pepsi Add, so I can only expect a high energy commercial in which she is supposed to star alongside Elton John. I’m not really sure how I feel about this track, its really just in the middle. If she is going to go down this genre for her album, she has some big competition since Dance is BIGGG right now. I know she has the vocals to smash anything, so maybe this is a grower.
I know this has been out for a while, but seeing as I STILL have this mixtape on HEAVY rotation, and I didn’t own a blog when this came out, his music needs to be heard!
Daley is a soulful singer/songwriter from Manchester, who has been breaking out on the scene ever since he was nominated for last years ‘BBC Sound of 2011‘ alongside some of my favorite artists to this day; Jamie Woon, James Blake, Jessie J. Although he didn’t place in the top 5, that definitely hasn’t slowed him down. He released his FREE mixtape around summer of last year, and it has been on repeat ever since.
His first music video was released for a track titled ‘Smoking Gun’ off his mix-tape, and I must say it’s AMAZING. It’s simple, yet the visuals can be only explained as artistry at its finest.
From his work with Gorillaz, and British rapper Wretch 32, to his mixtape work with the beautiful Marsha Ambrosius he has definitely earned his spot to be one of my favorite artists. His mixtape is all about beginning his journey, and each track has its own place on it. While he keeps it soulful, there is still a certain variety of sounds and genres that are mixed in within each track. The mixtape as a whole is a standout, and if you don’t have it,well, you should!
His album is due out this spring, and another video for his sexy ‘Alone Together’ track is in the works. Singer/Songwriter at its best.
Delilah has been one of those low-key artists that I have kept an eye for a couple of months, and now she has released her mixtape for FREE a couple of days ago. Its definitely not the best mixtape of the last couple of months, but its very good. Her unique voice brings something different to every song she has. Standouts include: ‘Never Be Another’, ‘Love You So (Joe Goddard Remix), and ‘Love Drug’. While the mixtape is short, its definitely worth a listen!
Last year, I was definitely jealous of the show line up that happened in Madrid: Jamie Woon, HudMo, and Erykah Badu. What I would have given to be at that gig, anyway this video is just me being excited that people like Miss Badu are starting to appreciate good music!
