This might be one of my favorite collaborations of the year. M.I.A is bringing out the big guns for what may be her last album, this time with a track titled “Freedun” featuring the incredible Zayn.
This track might be her most mainstream track off the album. Zayn adds his trademark haunting falsetto which gives this track a more soothing feel. M.I.A has always been known for some hard hitting tracks but this gives her a different side.
Head over to The Fader to hear this track!
M.I.A is pulling out all the stops for, what may be, her last album. She has given us the banger, “Go Off“, and now she tones it down with a Diplo Remix of the track,”Bird Song”.
Earlier this month, she released the Blaqstarr remix to this track, and now we have Diplo giving us his take on the kazoo filled track. If you didn’t know M.I.A and Diplo haven’t had the best track record with each other, but I’m glad they were able to settle their differences because I believe it is a pair that can’t be matched.
Take a listen to the Diplo remix below, and after the jump is the Blaqstarr remix!
M.I.A is back, and we couldn’t be more excited!
This track is an explosion of swag over a Skrillex produced beat. M.I.A has always been a little bit controversial and different with her sound. This track follows her rather controversial statements about the Black Lives Matter subject that is very touchy at the moment. That being said, I’d like to focus more on the music because that is what we are about.
This track is everything we need from her, and while her previous effort “Borders” was fantastic, this is the M.I.A we know and love. This comes from her next album, AIM, which I read is supposedly her LAST album ever. That is sad news for music fans everywhere, but we hope that she goes out with a bang and this is a fantastic start!
M.I.A finally decides to grace us with an album after releasing an iconic ‘bad girls’ track forever ago. Matangi as a whole is exactly what you expect from an M.I.A album, loud noises, catchy hooks, and a lot of cultural influence. That’s not to say it’s bad, its actually quite amazing, maybe not the whole thing, but there are definitely some stand out tracks. Sadly, her ‘Collaboration’ with The Weeknd, isn’t really a collaboration but more of a sampling of one of his songs, but either way, its a pretty huge track. Take a listen above, the whole album is there in a playlist so just press play and enjoy!
Lately M.I.A’s efforts have been either hit or miss, her previous tracks in the past couple of months, that I have no idea what they were called, have definitely been a miss. I’m not sure which album she is putting the gem that is ‘Bad Girls’ but it doesn’t compete with the others.
That being said, ‘Y.A.L.A’ is definitely a hit. It is back to old school M.I.A with the loud noises and hard hitting beat and a catchy chorus. There isn’t much else to say expect if you’re a fan of M.I.A you will love this track.
Her album is said to be released Nov. 5th with a collaboration from The Weeknd which I feel, if done right, could be amazing.
After almost a year after releasing ‘Bad Girls’, M.I.A returns with a banging new single ‘Bring The Noize’. This track is definitely a classic M.I.A tune, with the chopped and repeated vocal beat, and her classic M.I.A flow. This track is absolute perfection, and just gets me more and more excited for her new project I guess. I’m not sure when she is supposed to release her next album, but I’ll wait patiently, from the tracks I have heard so far it sounds like its going to be sick!
The extremely talented M.I.A is set to release the Bad Girls Remixes EP, and this is the first leak off of it. It features the legendary Missy Elliott and Rye Rye, remixed by Switch. I don’t really have to say anything at all about this track, the features and production credits explain it all. It’s absolutely genius, I need more M.I.A music in my life. Take a listen via Sharebeast for now until I figure out how to upload a copy to the site!
The ever so famous Superbowl halftime show was just a few hours ago with the one and only Madonna. I have heard mixed reviews on the whole thing, but I think she was alright up and till she started acting 21. That whole LMFAO addition was just a mess, then her dancing got a little too dirty for her age, she then proceeded to bring out Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. to perform the fail of a song ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’. She did kind of redeem herself with the accompany of Cee-Lo Green, but then lost all credibility when she put the ‘World Peace’ message after all that grinding. SERIOUSLY?
Looks like M.I.A. is taking every bit of spotlight from Madonna, and I’m glad she is. This video is miles better than Madonna’s, and so is the song. I wasn’t too fond of it at first, but it has really grown on me, and I love it! The video is created by the same mind behind ‘Born Free’. The video just shows M.I.A. doing her thing. Enjoy!
