NEW MUSIC: Raleigh Ritchie – Stay Inside

raleigh-ritchie

Thanks to Pinboard, I have recently discovered the soulful Raleigh Ritchie. Raleigh has a very soulful tone to his voice, but the beats he sings over reminds me like another James Blake a bit. That’s not to take anything away from Raleigh, because they are very different, but I can’t help but compare. ‘Stay Inside’ is a very catchy track, and definitely one of my more recent favorites that I have come across. He has another track on his soundcloud titled A Moor, which is just as good.

Hope to hear more from him very soon!

NEW MUSIC: Leon Else – Tomorrow Land (All Fall Down)

411165_10150773983483265_598455035_o

Stumbled upon this guy a couple of days ago, and after giving this track a couple of spins, I thought it was very necessary that I share it. Leon Else is a newcomer from over seas in the UK, with a very distinct sound following in the footsteps of Jamie Woon, James Blake and The XX. ‘Tomorrow Land’ starts out very haunting and smooth at the same time, while Leon’s vocals flow perfectly over the beat. The track continues to grow musically and vocally into a very big track. I love everything about this track, and I think Leon Else will definitely have a career in the UK, I just hope the USA catches this soon!

NEW VIDEO: Daley – Songs That Remind Me of You

Those of you who have been following this blog know that I am a huge supporter of semi-newcomer Daley. I have been following his career for quite some time now, and he is slowly getting the credit he deserves with his success of ‘Alone Together’ all over the USA. He has been teasing us with this video for a couple of days now, and it is finally out in full and just like anything he puts out, it doesn’t disappoint at all. STRMOY is perfection, and I’m very much excited to hear his next EP, and soon followed by his album Days & Nights.

Stay tuned friends, this guy is about to blow up!

NEW MUSIC: Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop

We-Can-t-Stop-miley-cyrus-34518590-960-960Along with a whole new look, teen star, Miley Cyrus has put out a new sound which has a more R&B flavor towards it. I’m not sure how I feel about this track just yet, I definitely see it impacting radio stations everyone, but as far as quality, there isn’t much behind it. It sounds like a throw away Rihanna track, which isn’t a bad thing when it comes to chart success. I am excited to see what else she has going for her on this album though, I do like this side of her more than her pop side, although it still has aspects of pop in it.

NEW MUSIC: The-Dream – Turnt [Ft. Beyonce & 2 Chainz]

the-dream-turnt

The-Dream is apparently trying to make his comeback to the industry with the release of this single ‘Turnt’ and soon to be album IV Play. ‘Turnt’ features two huge collaborations adding Beyonce and 2 Chainz to the mix. The-Dream has written countless songs for Beyonce which is probably how he snagged her on an album track, so he might as well release it to gain some buzz. The track is just alright, I used to love his older stuff, but since then his sound hasn’t changed too much, and this track just fades away in the mix of all other radio songs right now. It will be a hit because of the names on the songs, not because of the song itself.

NEW MUSIC: Beyonce – Grown Woman

2013BeyoncePA-15702900060213

Beyonce is back from her ‘break’, with the leak of her new track which is featured on her recent pepsi commercial, ‘Grown Woman’. I have to admit I did grow fond of the song after hearing it a couple of times, then I heard the full version and about halfway through she gets very, I guess I would call it cultural. She channels her African side, and it sounds terrible. I’m not sure what kind of sound she has for this album, but this track is pretty much all over the place. The first half is actually great, but once the 2nd part kicks in, it gets very messy and all over the place.

I have heard snippets of her other songs, but now hearing this in full, a snippet doesn’t do it justice

NEW VIDEO: Sub Focus – Endorphins [Ft. Alex Clare]

Sub Focus caught my attention with their genius collaboration with Alpines, ‘Tidal Wave‘. This new single follows the dance vibe of their previous single, and features the ever so talented Alex Clare. This song has already hit charts in the UK, and although I doubt it will hit USA charts, at least you can still enjoy it!

NEW MUSIC: Disclosure – F For You

534086_567571336609796_810026338_n

Disclosure is back with more new music, this time with a dance floor vibe. ‘F For You’ still keeps the classic sound that they are known for but by adding a heavy, almost groovy sounding beat, this track is definitely dance floor ready. Disclosure’s new album is sounding like gold from everything I have heard so far, I am patiently awaiting to hear their legendary track with Jamie Woon, which I have no doubt will be my favorite track off their album, and possibly one of my favorite of the year. The album is dude out June 4th, and It can’t come ANY sooner!

Enjoy!

NEW MUSIC: Robin Thicke – Give It To Me [Ft.2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar]

550337_10151102853931603_311015931_n

Robin Thicke definitely caught my attention with the release of Blurred Lines, and got me extremely excited for his upcoming album. Now with the release of his most recent efforts ‘Give It To Me’, he has made a complete 180 as far as sound goes. The beat is produced by “hitmaker” Will.I.Am, and features 2 chainz and Kendrick Lamar. While the song as a whole is actually straight fire, I’m not sure how I feel about him loosing all his soul. I understand why he has done it, it has been a long time since he has had a radio hit, and money is money. I still think Evolution of Robin Thicke is/will always be one of his best albums to date, but let’s see how this album goes!

NEW MUSIC: Emeli Sande – Crazy In Love (Beyonce Cover)

5479-emeli_sande_2012_420x250

I stated earlier that The Great Gatsby soundtrack was shaping up to be pure perfection, well this is definitely one of the reasons why. The soulful Emeli Sande gives Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’ a whole 40’s, big band feel, and it sounds so good! She changes the sound of it completely and her vocals over a sound like this is perfect. Emeli Sande has done and will never do wrong.
