NEW MUSIC: Nina Sky- Day Dreaming

Nina SkyRemember Nina Sky? yeah well they are coming back stronger than ever with an all new vibe, and I love every bit of it. There most recent collaboration with Creep was definitely one of my big tracks of last year, and now they are back with a smoother R&B vibe track. Day Dreaming is a mix of trance and r&b, and I’m looking forward to hearing more from them, check it!

NEW MUSIC: Melanie Amaro-Respect

X-factor winner has released some new music just a little bit ago, its basically a remake of The queen Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’ in Dance form version. I don’t think this is off her album or anything, but this is the track from her ever so famous  Superbowl Pepsi Add, so I can only expect a high energy commercial in which she is supposed to star alongside Elton John. I’m not really sure how I feel about this track, its really just in the middle. If she is going to go down this genre for her album, she has some big competition since Dance is BIGGG right now. I know she has the vocals to smash anything, so maybe this is a grower.

FREE MIXTAPE/ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Daley- Those Who Wait

Click Cover For Download

I know this has been out for a while, but seeing as I STILL have this mixtape on HEAVY rotation, and I didn’t own a blog when this came out, his music needs to be heard!

Daley is a soulful singer/songwriter from Manchester, who has been breaking out on the scene ever since he was nominated for last years ‘BBC Sound of 2011‘ alongside some of my favorite artists to this day; Jamie Woon, James Blake, Jessie J. Although he didn’t place in the top 5, that definitely hasn’t slowed him down. He released his FREE mixtape around summer of last year, and it has been on repeat ever since.

His first music video was released for a track titled ‘Smoking Gun’ off his mix-tape, and I must say it’s AMAZING. It’s simple, yet the visuals can be only explained as artistry at its finest.

From his work with Gorillaz, and British rapper Wretch 32, to his mixtape work with the beautiful Marsha Ambrosius he has definitely earned his spot to be one of my favorite artists. His mixtape is all about beginning his journey, and each track has its own place on it. While he keeps it soulful, there is still a certain variety of sounds and genres that are mixed in within each track. The mixtape as a whole is a standout, and if you don’t have it,well, you should!

His album is due out this spring, and another video for his sexy ‘Alone Together’ track is in the works. Singer/Songwriter at its best.

NEW MUSIC: Labrinth- Last Time

LabrinthFor those of you who aren’t familiar with Labrinth, he busted out on the scene in the UK as a featured vocalist on Tinie Tempah’s ‘Frisky‘ and ‘Pass Out‘, which were 2 major hits overseas. Then just last year he released his debut single from his album titled ‘Earthquake’ which was a massive track all over the UK. Now he is back with his new track ‘Last Time’ which he claims is going to be bigger than Earthquake. Take a Listen below:

Now I am a major fan of Labrinth,  but I definitely don’t see this topping the monster track that is ‘Earthquake’, but with that being said, this definitely has top 40 written ALL over it, and its only a matter of time before it reaches the charts. Anyway his debut album is scheduled to drop sometime in March, and I am definitely looking forward to see what else this guy has in store.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Vince Kidd

Vince Kidd

Vince Kidd has been on my radar for some time now, and I’m just glad to see him releasing some more music. I first heard his track ‘Taboo’ and instantly fell in love. Soulful voice mixed with an r&b type vibe, and it all mixes perfectly. This is the kind of talent we need right now, he is unique, and definitely a creative genius.

More recently he has dropped his first video for a new song titled ‘Sick Love’, which might I add is becoming one of my favorite tracks of 2012. The video is bizarre and yet you just want to keep watching. It’s sexy, smooth, and addictive all at the same time.

Check it out here:

also check out his track ‘Taboo’ below:

If those 2 tracks don’t persuade you then, take a listen to his acoustic version of a track called ‘Smother Me’ and be taken away by his soulful voice.  His debut album is due out later this year and I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more!

This guy has 2012 written ALL over him!

NEW MUSIC: M.I.A- Bad Girls

Bad Girls
New M.I.A off of her fourth album to be due out this summer. There was a mixtape version that was released a couple of months, but apparently she changed things up on it, and added it her album. I don’t see anything special about this track really, but with that being said, this track completely owns her flop album “MAYA” and I love every bit of this song , I’m actually looking forward to this album. She is on her way to being back where she belongs! The track hits itunes tomorrow (January 31st) for those that are interested!

M.I.A is also rumored to hit the superbowl stage next weekend with Madonna and Nicki Minaj to premier her new song “Give Me All Your Luvin”, the video to that song is supposed to air during American Idol this week so look out for that.

Take a listen to ‘Bad Girls’ below

NEW MUSIC: Chris Brown- Turn Up The Music

Turn Up The Music

Chris Brown seems to be switching his direction from r&b to Dance. To be fair his r&b tunes haven’t been much of a hit aside from ‘Deuces’ of course, but his dance tracks came pretty hard because I did LOVE ‘Beautiful People’ and even ‘Yeah 3x’ grew on me at one point. This new track is probably another grower, its not AMAZING but it will get stuck in your head, and cause you to listen to it multiple times. It’s definitely another top 40 hit for him,and I’m sure that is all he is looking for with it. Check it!

NEW MUSIC: Kris Allen- Vision of Love

Kris Allen

American Idol winner is back in FULL effect!!! I didn’t care too much for his last album, he had the one successful single ‘Live like were dying’ which was basically a knock off of The Script. Anyway with a new album due out sometime this year, a club remix of his single ‘Vision of Love’ has just been released, remixed by Maison & Dragen, and well, its pure FIREEE. I’m pretty sure it can’t get better than this, so I’m not sure if I will be listening to the real version, but anyway, check out out below!
