NEW MUSIC: Aaliyah – Enough Said [Ft. Drake]

YES. YES. AND MORE YES.

There has been a lot of speculation behind Drake being one of the main producers behind Aaliyah’s next album, and if he was worthy since he really had no contact with her. Timbaland and Missy Elliott have a little frustrated in not being involved in this project, but after all of that the first track to be released is ‘Enough Said’. I’m a bit hit or miss when it comes to Drake, but I have to give the man credit for this.

This masterpiece is absolutely amazing, and I’m not sure what else to say about it. Her vocals on the ‘Yeah’s’ bring back so many memories of how much of a talent she was, and the production is smooth and sexy and could easily bring tears. All that being said, the only problem I have with it is, it sounds like a Drake song instead of an Aaliyah song, Drake should have toned it down for this song since it is an Aaliyah album that he is producing and not his own.

Looking forward to hearing the project in full!

Repeat.

NEW MUSIC: Chris Lake & Jareth – Stand Alone

I have been a bit picky with the kind of dance music I listen to, but this track has been a long time coming. One of my favorites Jareth is accompanied by Chris Lake in this absolute smash ‘Stand Alone’. I first heard of Jareth after her release of ‘Pathway‘ and that track is still on repeat.

I have to say she sounds perfect over a hard hitting beat like this, and her unique vocals just add exactly whats needed. Jareth is definitely one to watch out for!

EP STREAM: TNGHT (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice)

Coming off listening to their first buzz single ‘Bugg’n’ I was extremely intrigued with their new style of music. I finally got the chance to listen to their EP ‘TNGHT’, and the only word I can describe it as is amazing. I can’t begin to describe how forward this whole EP is, and how unique these two have managed to be. This whole thing as a whole is heavy, with some hard hitting bass to back it up. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am for this EP, and I seriously will have this on repeat forever!

NEW VIDEO: Angel Haze – New York

Just discovered this genius rapper known as Angel Haze after she released the video for her track ‘New York’. The track is filled with hard hitting lyrics, and a catchy clap inspired beat. She reminds me of Azealia Banks a bit, but don’t let that comparison fool you. Angel Haze is definitely in her own lane and is definitely one of my favorite female Rappers out right now. I just finished listening to her mixtape which is just as amazing as this track, so I suggest you go download it for free and spread the word. She will blow up soon!

NEW MUSIC: Ellie Goulding – Hangin’ On [Ft. Tinie Tempah]

2 of my favorite UK artists have joined together to cover Active Child’s ‘Hangin’ On’ and its absolutely beautiful. The original version is just as good, but I actually prefer this cover for once. Ellie Goulding just adds a kind of mysterious vibe and soothing touch to it with her unique vocals. Accompanied by Tinie’s verse, this track is definitely one of my favorites.

In other Goulding news, she has set a date for her new album ‘Halcyon’  for October 8th, and her single ‘Anything Could Happen’ is set for a September 30th release. The world is not ready for this new album

NEW MUSIC: Mariah Carey – Triumphant [Ft. Rick Ross & Meek Mill]

Mariah Carey attempts a comeback with her new single featuring Rick Ross and Meek Mill. To me, Mariah is pretty much done with her music career, and this song proves it for me, I thought she might have some left but after listening to this single I don’t have much confidence in her anymore. The single is boring and doesn’t do much considering she is one of the best vocalists of our time, well at least she used to be.  The single basically sounds like it is a Rick Ross and Meek Mill song, and she is doing the chorus. She might be able to gain some kind of momentum seeing as she is now an American Idol judge, but that is all she has going for her right now.

Sorry Mariah, your done if this is the best you can do.

NEW MUSIC: The XX – Angels

The XX is looking to follow up their previous 2009 masterpiece, with another album. I’m sure like me, everyone was worried about how it was going to sound and if it would be able to compare to their debut album. This track ‘Angels’ should put all of that talk to rest. They return with the sound that everyone knows them for, and a very chilled out vibe. I think they will definitely come back and pretty much take over the airwaves once again.

Take a listen to the amazing track below!

NEW MUSIC: JoJo – Demonstrate

I have loved everything JoJo has done since she has first hit the scene. Now she attempts to make her comeback with her long awaited album ‘Jumping Trains’, and this tune ‘Demonstrate’ will be one of the singles off of it. For me, JoJo is one of the most underrated artists out there. Her ‘Can’t Take That Away from Me‘ EP was absolutely amazing but didn’t give her enough attention, and now with this song ‘Demonstrate’ she brings back some of her R&B vibes by adding a new spin to it.

‘Demonstrate’ is absolute gold, and while I don’t think it will perform well on the charts, I think it is a perfect way to bring back attention towards her. Everyone needs to purchase this album when it comes out!

NEW VIDEO: Jennifer Lopez – Goin’ In

I haven’t made my mind up about this new track from JLo. Its extremely generic dance pop, and the added feature of Lil Jon screaming ‘Put your hands up’ doesn’t make me like it anymore. For some reason, she makes it work. I do like the video in parts, by parts I mean her dance breaks which this song could have done a lot more of instead of colorful paint being through around. Anyway, this song will have it’s time in the charts, then slowly die away like most euro-pop music, but I don’t hate it.
