I have to admit, when first hearing this song I really didn’t like it at all. Now, after multiple listens, this is one of my favorite cuts from the album. Although the video doesn’t do much, something about it appeals to me, whether it’s Nelly looking fantastic, or just the concept of the video itself. Either way awesome video for an equally awesome song!
I want for her to have a hit so bad, she deserves it!
After 6 years, Nelly Furtado attempts to make her comeback and she has already made a huge impact with ‘Big Hoops’, which sadly didn’t perform well on the charts at all. ‘Hoops’ was so groundbreaking in every aspect, but I don’t think the US population was ready for it at all, and now she returns with ‘The Spirit Indestructible’. This song has it’s moments of huge production, and although her voice sounds a little unfinished, I actually like this song. Definitely not as good as ‘Hoops’ but it is refreshing to hear some genuine pop music again, rather than some dance music. Hopefully this song charts, although I highly doubt it.
This year was definitely interesting as far as performances go. The trend of female slayers continues, as both Carrie Underwood and Nelly Furtado took the awards for best performances. Goodie Mob definitely gave some points to the guys performances by slaying the EPIC ‘Fight To Win’ track, aside from the awkward one legged dancer they had.
While Justin Bieber is still trying to make ‘swaggie’ happen and Usher, while putting on a decent performance, is still promoting his Street Fighter dance track ‘Scream’. Chris Brown mimes the whole song while putting on a amazing dance number, but lets be honest, we have seen what he can do and we would like him to progress a little more.
Check out the performances below!
It’s amazing how poorly this song has done on the charts, it’s so good! That’s just how the business runs I guess, I fully support this song, and can’t wait to hear her album, she’s definitely bringing back originality. Move over Minaj and GaGa
