NEW MUSIC: The XX – Angels

The XX is looking to follow up their previous 2009 masterpiece, with another album. I’m sure like me, everyone was worried about how it was going to sound and if it would be able to compare to their debut album. This track ‘Angels’ should put all of that talk to rest. They return with the sound that everyone knows them for, and a very chilled out vibe. I think they will definitely come back and pretty much take over the airwaves once again.

Take a listen to the amazing track below!

NEW MUSIC: JoJo – Demonstrate

I have loved everything JoJo has done since she has first hit the scene. Now she attempts to make her comeback with her long awaited album ‘Jumping Trains’, and this tune ‘Demonstrate’ will be one of the singles off of it. For me, JoJo is one of the most underrated artists out there. Her ‘Can’t Take That Away from Me‘ EP was absolutely amazing but didn’t give her enough attention, and now with this song ‘Demonstrate’ she brings back some of her R&B vibes by adding a new spin to it.

‘Demonstrate’ is absolute gold, and while I don’t think it will perform well on the charts, I think it is a perfect way to bring back attention towards her. Everyone needs to purchase this album when it comes out!

NEW MUSIC: Jim-E Stack – Bubble Boy

Just discovered this genius artist, straight from San Francisco, Jim-E Stack. He had me instantly hooked with this ‘Bubble Boy’ track which was released only a couple of days ago. His style is kind of like a mix of Disclosure and SBTRKT mixed, and yet he adds his own flavor to it. This track is straight fire production, and I have a feeling I should keep him on my radar because he is only just beginning. The track is available on iTunes right now, so I suggest you go buy it after you fall in love after the first listen!

NEW MUSIC: Nelly Furtado – The Spirit Indestructible

After 6 years, Nelly Furtado attempts to make her comeback and she has already made a huge impact with ‘Big Hoops’, which sadly didn’t perform well on the charts at all. ‘Hoops’ was so groundbreaking in every aspect, but I don’t think the US population was ready for it at all, and now she returns with ‘The Spirit Indestructible’. This song has it’s moments of huge production, and although her voice sounds a little unfinished, I actually like this song. Definitely not as good as ‘Hoops’ but it is refreshing to hear some genuine pop music again, rather than some dance music. Hopefully this song charts, although I highly doubt it.

NEW MUSIC: Kelly Rowland – Ice [Ft. Lil Wayne]

Kelly Rowland slows it down with her new single ‘Ice’. She enlists Lil Wayne again to try and rekindle their massive success with the amazing ‘Motivation’, and I must say it kind of works. I loved everything about ‘Motivation’, and although it sounds a bit like ‘Motivation 2.0’, in some way it still brings its own sound. I love Kelly Rowland, always have, and I really hope this brings some success which I’m sure it will. I always have a soft place in my heart for the Kelly Rowland dance tunes though.

NEW MUSIC: Keyshia Cole – Enough of No Love [Ft. Lil Wayne]

Keyshia Cole is back with her new single ‘Enough of No Love’ assisted by the rapper no one really cares about anymore Lil Wayne. She belts out her powerful vocals over a nice smooth R&B beat, and I think this is an amazing comeback track. We have been missing some real R&B, and now the females are bringing it back with Alicia Keys, now Keyshia Cole, and next up Kelly Rowland. This track is great, while I don’t care at all for Lil Wayne at all, but whatever, I love me some Keyshia Cole!

NEW MUSIC: Azealia Banks – Nathan [Ft. Styles P]

Azealia Banks yet again delivers a sick track. She releases another single off her mixtape Fantasea titled ‘Nathan’ in which she flows over an equally sick beat. She is basically just keeping it the way she always has, and for now its completely working. Azealia Banks is definitely one to watch out for, and she hasn’t even released an album yet!

NEW MUSIC: Alicia Keys – New Day

I have been hesitant to post this new Alicia because I’m just not that big of a fan of it. She tries to make her comeback by enlisting her husband Swizz Beats to produce this new track. I love Alicia, even if her last album was hit or miss, but this track doesn’t break any boundaries at all. The beat is your generic Swizzy beat, and Alicia doesn’t do anything vocally to impress anyone. It is a good move to keep it sort of R&B, since there is none of that going on commercially. She has to compete with Keyshia Cole and now Kelly Rowland who are both releasing tracks featured with Lil Wayne pretty soon. So far this is the bottom of the 3 R&B females for me, but it’s nice to hear Alicia again.
