For those Dubstep fans out there, one of my favorites, Nero is back and bigger than ever. ‘Won’t You’ has a Nero’s signature sound to it, but seeing as I’m not the biggest Dubstep fan, I wouldn’t know where to begin to give my input on this song. When it comes to Dubstep, I either like it, or I don’t. When it comes to Nero, I usually like it, and that goes the same with this track.
My interest with Lyrica Anderson sparked after randomly seeing her on stage at this years SXSW in Austin,TX. I then looked up what she had going for her and had further interest after hearing ‘Love Me‘, now she is ready to release her mixtape King Me. Now with the help of the returning Missy Elliott on her fire verse, Lyrica gives us some smooth R&B to jam to as ‘mixtape’ is her first single off her new, well, mixtape.
Lyrica Anderson just keeps getting better and better, and when her mixtape drops tomorrow, I’m sure it could give her a place in the spotlight. King Me is out tomorrow!
Yes, I admit I have a small liking to OneDirection, I’m not exactly sure what it is, but I do.
Now that it’s been said, let’s move on to the song/video. Nothing to in depth about the video, just like the others it shows boys being boys. A couple of group shots to show of their good looks, and a catchy yet suggestive song behind it. ‘Live While We’re Young’ is basically talking about ‘getting some’, and guess who will be singing along to this song? That’s right, everyone from the ages of 5 to16, perfect.
That being said, it is yet another smash hit for the boys, and easily fits on the radio. OneDirection is not going anywhere anytime soon, so they might as well take advantage of it while they can. I’ll be singing along to this in about a week.
YES.YES.YES.YES
I can’t contain my excitement, both of these tracks are pure fire and I’m so glad to hear Missy back after her long hiatus, and it was definitely well worth the wait. I was a bit worried when I heard Timbaland was behind these Missy tracks because I didn’t want a trademark Timbo beat, but it just goes to show that these two are definitely an unstoppable force.
9th Inning, is a more exciting track, with Missy giving her standard fire flow over a piano based beat, basically pushing aside any of these newcomers. Triple Threat has more of a Timbaland influence, and is a little more repetitive, but still has that Missy flow that we have been waiting 7 years for. Either way, I can finally say that this Missy album will definitely be one to watch, and could very well slay the charts.
Let me not hold you anymore to some actual rap music, listen below!
Ciara returns with her first single off her most anticipated album yet, ‘sorry’. Hearing snippets of this, and hear her talk about it made me pretty much loose all interest in it, but now that it’s released in full I can finally make my judgement and, I love it! It’s no ‘Promise’ or anything like that, but it does bring a little older feel of R&B in the picture, and even Ciara who isn’t the best vocalist, sounds pretty damn good. I was hoping for a more upbeat single as her first track back, after what seems like a decade. Nonetheless, this is a good start, and the video does help, even if it does feature an off brand 50 cent. I think I can get on board with her new album after this.
Also for some reason, the beat made me want to sing Genuine’s ‘Differences’, but either way, good track.
The first single off the ‘PsychoWhite’ EP from the duo of Yelawolf and Travis Barker just got released, and it is CRAZY! The single is such a hype single, you can’t help but get a little crazy feeling while listening to it. Travis Barker adds a hard hitting drum line in the background while the speed rapper Yelawolf raps over it. I’m quite looking forward to what this EP will sound like, I loved Ed Sheeran and Yelawolf’s collaboration, so let’s see how he does with Travis Barker!
The legendary Pink releases another collaboration with the equally legendary Eminem. This will be the pairs second collaboration, previously coming together on ‘Won’t Back Down’. Probably 2 of the most outspoken artists of our generation on one track? Done Deal. I love this track, and in my eyes, Pink and Eminem can really do no wrong, so this is just awesome. I do actually prefer ‘Won’t Back Down’ because it fit the 2 more, than this pop direction that she is going in, but either way, I think this will definitely make an impact on the chars.
I posted the first release of this song a while back, now that he has gained his much needed fame from being on The Voice UK, he comes back stronger than ever with the remix of Sick Love, featuring UK talent Lady Leshurr who will be accompanying him on his UK tour! I have to say the original was just perfection, but so is this! Vince Kidd makes this one a little more hard hitting and with a grime feel, and Lady Leshurr just adds on to that.
Vince Kidd has some kind of talent that is not going to be found anywhere else, and all his tracks prove it. I need a USA take over NOW!
For those of you like me, and can’t wait for the epic return of Queen Missy, well wait no longer! The snippet sounds like an intro to the song, or something because there is no real beat drop, but that Missy flow is exactly what is needed. This track sounds like pure fire, and I’m hearing rumors that she pushed back the release of this track a week, so by next week we should have this song, and another too.
Watch out, Missy is coming to slay all these fresh artists!
British boyband ‘The Wanted’ are set to release their new album next summer, but first they give us a sneek peak at what it will sound like. Most Americans don’t know how old their ‘Glad You Came’ single is, seeing as its still smashing the charts, but the band is ready to move on. ‘I Found You’ sounds like their smash hit ‘Glad You Came’ but so much better, it definitely has a few of the same background beats as the previous single, but what sold me, was someones solo verse. I’m not sure who it is that has the solo towards the end, with the raspy voice and just pure perfection vocals, but I love it.
Anyway, the single is set to debut in the UK on November 18th, but enjoy it for now!
