NEW MUSIC: Allen Stone – Freezer Burn

allen-stone-press-2014-650-430

Allen Stone has been one of my favorites for quite some time now, his previous albums have each been fantastic, and I can’t even begin to talk about his vocal ability. The soul singer is coming back with his new album Radius, and this is just one of the tracks off, what I imagine will be, a fantastic album. ‘Freezer Burn’ sounds like a mix of The Black Keys and Prince all mashed up in to one soulful song, which if you know both artists, you know that it is a recipe for greatness.

I am more than excited to see him on tour next week, be sure to check out his tour dates and catch him in a city near you!

NEW MUSIC: Danity Kane – Rhythm of Love

By now I feel like everyone knows the group has broken up, but if you haven’t well there you go. There was lots of drama surrounding the whole situation, and I didn’t care to read the whole thing, I was basically concerned with the music. For a while it seemed like we weren’t going to get anything more from them, but as of yesterday, Aubrey and Shannon have come out and said that the album will be dropping next month. Dawn hasn’t spoken about the release, but the other 2 have stated that this album is for the fans.

All that being said, I have seen them perform this song live on youtube, and it’s not my favorite from the group, because I am still waiting for ‘All in a Days work’, but its start. They took a more dance/pop feel with this track, a complete opposite from the smash that is ‘Lemonade’. I’m just excited to hear what went on in the studio, so now I just have to wait and see.

Also you can hear snippets of their entire album here

NEW MUSIC: Kendrick Lamar – I

kendrick

I’m not the biggest critic of rap/hip-hop music, but I do have mad respect for Kendrick Lamar. Aside from the ‘rappers’ that rule the charts these days, Kendrick keeps it different and real. I loved his previous album, and now he releases what will probably be a huge track this year from his upcoming album. ‘I’ is hard hitting, and samples the Isley Brothers, giving it a sort of outkast kind of feel, which is a great comparison. There is nothing out there right now that sounds like this, and I fully support Kendrick after this track, and can’t wait to hear what else he has for this next album!

NEW MUSIC: Mary J. Blige – Whole Damn Year

500_1411358141_mjb_whole_damn_year_71

I can’t stress how much Mary J. is about to kill the game.

With the previous release of the masterpiece ‘Right Now’, she releases a much more emotional side to her next EP The London Sessions. ‘Whole Damn Year’ has Mary J. written all over it, and yet the production is different, which can be credited to the talented people she has been working with. Everything about this is amazing, and I stated it as soon as I heard ‘Right Now’, Mary J. is changing the game, and everyone better watch out.

NEW MUSIC: Rochelle Jordan – Lowkey [Ft. JMSN]

Rochelle-Jordan-L-O-W-K-E-Y-Remix-feat.-JMSN1

Now that fall has kicked in, I feel like the release of this track is just perfect. I have been a fan of both Rochelle Jordan and JMSN for quite some time now, both are huge talents in their own respects. So, needless to say, when the two join forces only perfection would come from it. ‘Lowkey’ is straight night time vibes, RoJo keeps it smooth with her vocals and later JMSN comes in and kills his verse and just adds to the flow of the track. These two fit perfectly together, even though separately their styles are quite different sounding.

These guys deserve so much credit because this track is definitely going to be on repeat for a while!

NEW MUSIC: Sakima – Energy

Excited to show you guys a new talent named Sakima. I found this guy off pinboardblog, and I immediately fell in love. Sakima carries himself in a James Blake sort of way, but doesn’t lose his own flow. He has a very smooth and soulful vocal, and it just fits over the haunting beat. The whole track as a whole is just stunning and will take you to another place. I’m just now discovering him, so I really hope to post every step on his way to what could be a very big career.

Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: Gorgon City – Coming Home [Ft. Maverick Sabre]

YES.

Two of my favorites blend their very unique styles and create something amazing. Maverick Sabre’s soulful vibes, and Gorgon City’s house/dance vibes mixed together is perfection on this new track ‘Coming Home’. I’m mostly glad to hear Maverick back on the scene, his talent was definitely missed. I definitely see this being a hit in the UK, and hopefully enough to bring them over to the US because I would love to see them both!

Enjoy!
