After a bit of a dry spell of new music worth listening to, Stalley brings out a smash! Produced by a member of N*E*R*D, Chad Hugo, and you can definitely see why. The hard hitting drums and mix of electronic and rock beat is exactly what Stalley needed to back him up. This track is everything that makes me miss the good days of N*E*R*D and I hope they make a comeback pretty soon.
Definitely one of my favorite songs by Usher in the past year or 2, ‘Climax’ gets video treatment. Now while I LOVE Usher doing this genre of music, I think the video is pretty much a miss. It shows him being a secret agent or something just running everywhere, and close ups of him trying to evoke emotion and stuff. That being said, the music video doesn’t take away from how amazing this Diplo produced song is, it’s definitely going to be a hit no matter what!
I know this song isn’t new or anything, but I feel like people who haven’t heard of Stooshe need to get informed. This all female trio is slowly making their mark on the industry with their controversial lyrics and unique look and I love every moment of it. They are easily one of my favorite groups of the past couple of years, their personality just shows through every song they do AND they have the vocals to back it all up. Mark my words, they will be a HUGE success!
Originally breaking out on the scene with their amazing song ‘Betty Woz Gone‘, Stooshe has released their music video for their before titled song ‘Fuck Me’ (the video has been taken down, for obvious reasons) but for radio purposes has changed it to ‘Love Me’ and featured Gym Class Heroes’ own Travie McCoy, check it out below!
Earlier this year, the club banger version of this song, remixed by Maison & Dragen, was released and definitely is still on heavy rotation. Now, the original soft rock version has finally been released, and I have to say it’s pretty good. I definitely prefer the remix, but I can definitely see this getting some chart success. His vocals are extremely versatile and he has a pretty good range, and this song definitely shows that. He doesn’t really sound like a Script knockoff anymore, at least in this song, I’ll have to listen to his album when it drops to give my final decision.
French producer has a released a quite sick track titled ‘ Yo Vogue’. The bass line is dirty, everything about this track is music at it’s finest. According to the comments this track has been online for a long time now, but I only just found it, since it has gained some buzz as it is being officially released. I don’t know much about this guy except that I definitely need to hear some more stuff from him (soundcloud).
One of my big producers of last year was Burial, having worked with one of my favorite artists of last year Jamie Woon. Now he is back with a very chilled out summer vibe track titled ‘Nova’ with another UK producer Four Tet. No word yet on where this track comes from, but either way its definitely worth a listen!
‘We Found Love’ hit-maker Calvin Harris is back with another club anthem with R&B singer Ne-Yo titled ‘Let’s Go’. Definitely not as good as ‘We Found Love’ but seeing as I am big Calvin Harris fan, I’m really liking this track. Although Ne-Yo could easily be replaced with any singer and it would probably sound a lot better, but if your looking for a mindless dance track with a nice, smooth beat, this will definitely give you your fill.
I always enjoy seeing visuals from Thicke, this one doesn’t disappoint either. Robin Thicke seems to breaking his shell a little bit more showing a different side to him at parts, but yet keeps his famous suave style. He channels old school western type vibes in this one, and while its no ‘Shooter’ collaboration, its definitely a standout on his album.
If I haven’t made you a fan by now, just leave this site!
I’m so in love with his vocals, and this video just feeds all my cravings for it, aside from the one mic problem of course! He soulfully jams out with to his newest single ‘No One‘ off his AMAZING album Lonely Are The Brave, which I highly recommend you pick up!
First discovered Mike Hough just stumbling around on youtube, and immediately fell in love with his vocals. I did some more research at the time and all he had was youtube covers at the time but that has changed quite a lot. This guy is definitely one to watch out for mixing the likes of pop, soul, and R&B, his tracks have definitely have been worthy of the small itunes fee. With inspirations like Adele & Beyonce you can definitely hear their sound on the tracks he creates, but still adds his own touch to it. His vocals are definitely unique and fit well over a smooth R&B track and even a massive pop track. Watch out for this guy in the coming months, and next year!
