JUST LISTEN: MiC Lowry – Sweet Love (Anita Baker Cover)

In honor of the talents, MiC Lowry, dropping their next single “Whiskey Kisses” at midnight, we give you a little acoustic session from them. The amazingly talented five-some has done some serious work since being featured in our Artist Spotlight series last year, and now gives Anita Baker some “Sweet Love”.

MiC Lowry has toured with Justin Bieber, and has massive success with their smash “Oh Lord“. They just made their debut television performance of “Oh Lord” on the Wendy Williams show yesterday.

We can’t wait to hear their new single tonight, and everything else this group has to offer!

We first introduced you to MiC LOWRY in our Artist Spotlight series, and with their smash, “Oh Lord” dropping a few months back, they have given us a reason to love them even more.

I was hooked from their many acoustic covers on YouTube, and so this acoustic version of their song “Oh Lord” is absolutely everything. There really isn’t much else to say, but just listen to he vocals do all the work.

 

NEW EP: Jody Brock – Phoenix

If you don’t know the talent that is Jody Brock by now, I highly suggest you dive in right now!

I have been following his career for quite sometime now, and I am highly impressed with everything has put out. After what feels like forever, we finally get an EP that was definitely worth the wait titled ‘Phoenix’. The one word I would use to describe Jody Brock and this whole EP is “Raw”. His sound is verging on rock with a soul which is definitely a sound we don’t have anywhere right now. If I had to compare it something, it would definitely be The Black Keys, but don’t let that get stuck in your head, because Jody adds so much more to that sound. Each track has a very distinct sound but keeps a very rock vibe going for it. I can’t even begin to describe the vocals on this EP, I thought I had heard it all, vocally, from him but he continues to impress.

Although I love the EP as a whole, I have to admit ‘User’ is definitely a standout track for me, so much depth and meaning behind every word in that song. I have posted the video for the song after the jump, which I highly suggest you watch right now!

Thank you Jody Brock for creating this, and I definitely hope this gives him enough momentum to cross over and play some shows in the USA here soon!

JUST LISTEN: Maverick Sabre Cover’s ‘Summer’ by Calvin Harris

Maverick Sabre’s debut album Lonely Are The Brave, was one of my favorites of 2012, and while he is slowly prepping his comeback, we get to listen to this amazing cover. Maverick soulfully mashes up the 2 biggest hits of the summer, Calvin Harris’ ‘Summer’ and John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ into one track. I love everything about this, and it just reminds us of how talented this man is vocally. I look forward to hearing this mans follow up album, because it is sure to be on repeat just like his debut is.

As most of you are aware, I am this man’s biggest fan and I will prove you wrong if you try and compete with my statement. He has finally decided to hit the studio after almost 7 years, and now has ever so kindly graced us with what maybe the album to hold us over another 7 years (I seriously hope not).

I’ll save my review for later, after giving it time to settle in, but for now, I highly recommend you stop everything and tune out the world with The 20/20 Experience

Every time I hear Daley sing, it makes me crave that debut album even more each time. Now he has put his own flavor on one of the best usher songs in the past 5 years, ‘Climax’ for SB.TV. Let’s focus on this guys talent one more time, because his voice is pure sex and I can’t get over it. From his acoustic video for ‘The Last Train‘, to his ‘Sick Love‘ music video he shocks me every new performance/song he puts out. This song, and every song he has made, has been on repeat ever since. I told you before, now I will tell you again:

Also, regardless of what any of those Youtube comments say, this guy is pure talent and it doesn’t matter what he looks like, I don’t know him personally, but all I know is that on twitter he comes across as a genuine person, and he definitely has the support of Long Live Music, because of his amazing talent! I can’t wait for him to take over the States!

TNGHT is made up of 2 TOP producers of the last year HudMo and Lunice, and they have come together to fuse this amazing tune. Every detail of this track is just pure perfection, from all the little sound effects to the HEAVVVY background beat. It doesn’t get much better than this, and if your smart you will indulge your ears in this masterpiece right now!

NEW MUSIC: French Fries – Yo Vogue

French producer has a released a quite sick track titled ‘ Yo Vogue’. The bass line is dirty, everything about this track is music at it’s finest. According to the comments this track has been online for a long time now, but I only just found it, since it has gained some buzz as it is being officially released. I don’t know much about this guy except that I definitely need to hear some more stuff from him (soundcloud).
