NEW MUSIC: Michael Jackson – Slave To The Rhythm [Ft. Justin Bieber]

MJ-wallpapers-michael-jackson-31128130-1600-1200

I have been waiting a couple of days to post this song, on the one fact that I didn’t know if I liked it or not. I have come to the conclusion, that I have still don’t know, and I have listened to it about 30 times. King MJ sounds unbelievable, and I miss that raspy, hard hitting vocal range he gave to us. Biebs actually sounds quite good too even though I have never been the biggest fan of his.

I guess when it comes down to it, I kind of like it maybe just on the fact that its Michael Jackson and it doesn’t sound like a terrible remake of something that Sony is putting out just to make money. On the other hand I dislike it, because the song could have been so much better without bieber, and just left as an MJ track. I don’t know why or who this song was made for, but it’s here and I have to respect the music for what it is.

NEW MUSIC: Janelle Monae – Primetime [Ft. Miguel]

JanelleMonae_Primetime-e1376940614905

YES.

This is some serious baby making music right here, 2 of my favorite R&B singers come together for some smooth straight R&B vibes. I can’t stress how good this track is, this is the kind of thing I wanted from the Mariah Carey and Miguel duet, but it failed miserably. ‘Primetime’ will definitely hit it big on the radio as it should. Miss Monae’s album is sounding like perfection after hearing these tracks she has put out. Electric Lady is due out September 10th.

R&B isn’t dead just yet.

NEW MUSIC: Jessie McCartney – Back Together

post

The last time I remember hearing a Jessie McCartney track was back when he made ‘Beautiful Soul’. Well while being on tour with the Backstreet Boys, he released a surprisingly good single titled ‘Back Together’. This track has a very old school feel to it, almost channeling JT in some spots. It’s very radio friendly and catchy, and just kind of a feel good tune. Jessie McCartney is set to release and album and EP soon, so watch out for that!

NEW MUSIC: John Mayer – Wildfire [Ft. Frank Ocean]

After lending his talents to Frank Oceans debut album, Ocean returns the favor by featuring on John’s 90 second song titled ‘Wildfire’. I wish there was more to say about this song, it could be something amazing, if only it was longer. These two have the talent to make amazing music together, but sadly this is only what we get so far. Here’s to hoping they release a full version of this song, or just make more music together in general.

NEW VIDEO: Luke James – Oh God [Ft. Hit-Boy]

Luke James is a talent from across the seas, who definitely deserves all kinds of praise for his vocals alone. James first caught my attention after his acoustic greatness of ‘I Want You‘, before you continue reading this, check that video out right now and you will appreciate this post a whole lot more. Anyway, back to the song ‘Oh God’, which falls right into the category of Luke James, Amazing. Sounding a bit like Frank Ocean at moments, which is never a bad thing. James brings the soulful and smooth R&B vocals that we have needed for some time. ‘Oh God’ is one of my favorite tracks from Luke James, and I hope to hear more from him soon!

NEW MUSIC: Jessie J – Excuse My Rude [Ft. Becky G]

IlluminatiWatcherDotCom-jessie-4

After releasing a terrible single ‘It’s My Party’, Jessie J brings back all her momentum by releasing this big track titled ‘Excuse My Rude’. This track is everything that I love about Jessie J, it has her trademark vocals, and yet she keeps it hard hitting over an equally hard beat. The added feature of Becky G just adds to the perfection of this track. She just needs to throw away her first attempt at a single, and release this instead.

Let’s hope her album sounds more like this, and less like the previous track.

NEW MUSIC: Katy Perry – Roar

Katy-Perry-Roar

Hot off the heels of Lady Gaga making her comeback, Katy Perry attempts to follow up with her new single ‘Roar’. There really isn’t too much behind this single as a whole, its not show stopping, and its not the worst. It will get airplay because it’s Katy Perry, but as far as progression goes, it fails. Katy Perry should be doing much better especially now that she has timed her comeback with GaGa’s. As far as comeback singles go, GaGa definitely wins this time.

Also, that single cover is horrible.

NEW MUSIC: Lady GaGa – Applause

gaga-applause

Lady GaGa makes her much awaited comeback after releasing her first single, ‘Applause’, off her upcoming album ArtPop. I’ve never been the biggest GaGa fan, and I heard the snippet of this song a couple of days ago, and it didn’t really do anything for me. Now that the song has been released in full, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I definitely see it getting major airplay, and it will break through to the top 10 for sure. It does have a different sound than any other GaGa sound, which is something I like. I do this track being a grower and I will probably love it eventually, but for now I’m on the fence.

NEW MUSIC: BANKS – Waiting Game

BANKS-575x862-500x500

BANKS is a new comer to me, I’ve never had the chance to hear anything she has put out, but if this is what I have been missing out on, then I need to backtrack for a bit. This track has a little bit of everything mixed into one perfection piece of music. It’s sexy, smooth, and the vocals are just perfectly matched behind what starts as a slow beat, but turns into a huge haunting background. I would definitely keep an eye out for this girl, she seems to have a lot to offer in the near future!

NEW MUSIC: Ariana Grande – Right There [Ft. Big Sean]

ariana-grande-yours-truly

Ariana Grande may be one of the many Disney girls out trying to take over the music industry, but the difference between her and the rest of the girls, Ariana is actually doing it right. After her smash release of ‘The Way’ featuring Mac Miller, and her follow up smash ‘Baby I’, another track surfaces from her much anticipated album titled ‘Right There’ featuring Big Sean.

‘Right There’ has the 90’s flavored quality that we were hoping for, yet keeps it modern just like all of her tracks have been so far. This one sounds a bit similar to ‘The Way’, but that shouldn’t take away from either track. I love this track just as much as the other 2, and I’m excited to hear the rest of her album.

Also those vocals.
