2016 is showing up to be the year of comebacks from pop’s greatest. We have Lady Gaga, JoJo, and now Bruno Mars joins the club. Bruno has taken about 4 years off with the only single being the Mark Ronson smash, “Uptown Funk” and his iconic superbowl performance alongside Beyonce and Coldplay. Other than that we haven’t heard any solo material since Unorthodox Jukebox, back in 2012.
Bruno Mars is now back and not only dropped his new single “24K Magic” but the visuals and the album cover (featured above) to go along with it. This track had to be huge following his legendary success of “Uptown Funk”, and I believe he did that fantastically.
“24K Magic” brings the funk right back in the game with an almost Pharrell sounding production, it’s “Uptown Funk”…but sexier. The video gives me Beyonce “7/11” vibes, but better, and the song makes more sense. Bruno did the damn thing!
We need a male pop-star back in the game currently run by females and Bruno brings that.

One of my all time favorite vocalists is getting ready to grace us with a new LP for our ears. In the meantime, she has decided to cover, probably one of the most covered songs as of recently, Coldplay’s ‘Magic’. While I’m not a fan of the original, the immense amounts of covers that I have heard have made me a fan of the song itself, and Brandy’s soulful attempt is no exception. She takes it to a smoother level with her amazing vocals, and keeps it very simple.
Brandy may not be doing that well commercially, but there is no denying how unique and amazing her vocal abilities are, and I will always be a fan of her no matter what.
because, who doesn’t love an acoustic MNEK track?
MNEK is going to be huge this year, and this is one of the reasons why. He is one of the few with Pure Talent, and I’m pretty much posting this because I am so ready for MNEK to grace us with new music this friday.
Turn it up and zone out.
It has been a while since we have heard anything new from UK band, Coldplay. They make a comeback with the release of ‘Midnight’ which is taken off their upcoming sixth studio album. While I am a Coldplay fan, and yes their music has usually been very somber and you have to be in some sort of mood to listen to it, this track just doesn’t do it for me. It very much sounds more like a Bon Iver track rather than a Coldplay track, which isn’t a bad thing, but for one of the biggest UK acts, it is. Anyway, I don’t see much potential in this track on the charts, but then again, Coldplay has never been much of a chart seeking band.
Definitely a standout track on the the album, and one of my favorites finally gets visual treatment, and well it’s just alright. Both Coldplay and Rihanna have the star power to make this video amazing, but well its just alright, I like it, but it doesn’t make me want to put the track on replay like some videos do. Still a great song though.
