NEW VIDEO: Alt-J – Something Good

Finally after releasing his album ‘An Awesome Wave‘ in May, he releases a visual for ‘Something Good’. ‘Something Good’ is one of my standout tracks on it, as is the track that made me gain interest in the first place ‘Fitzpleasure’. Alt-J mixes a bit of dubstep with some endearing vocals to add a unique blend to his finished product, which no one else is doing right now. If your a fan, I recommend you check out his album, because it all runs on the same lines as this track.

NEW MUSIC: Rihanna – Diamonds

It’s that time of year for the single queen, Rihanna to release her next studio album. Her first single ‘Diamonds’ got it’s release today. As much as I want to hate this single, I just can’t. She changes up her sound again and it sounds awesome. The song is written by the amazing Sia, and you can faintly hear her background vocals on the track. I was under the impression it was going to be a big dance track, and I’m so glad it’s not. Rihanna always has a way of standing out from the crowd, and this just might do it. She definitely proved me wrong. Also I LOVE the single cover.

NEW MUSIC: Ke$ha – Die Young

The queen of trash and glitter has returned!! Ke$ha graces us with her presence on ‘Die Young’ after taking a couple of years break. After teasing us with little video snippets of the song, she finally makes a full release (official release on tuesday), and I have to say it doesn’t live up to the expectation that I was hoping for.It doesn’t sound like she made any progress as far as her sound goes, but maybe she is just warming us up with this and will release some massive tracks off her next album. With that being said, the radio and me will still eat this song alive and it will be every ones new anthem in the next couple of weeks.

Will this be able to out stand a massive Rihanna single that is said to be dropping on Wednesday? I would bank on it. This is definitely number 1 material, and while it’s not exactly what I was expecting after she released that ‘Supernatural‘ preview, I still love every moment of it, and it will just grow and grow from here.

Warrior drops December 4th!

NEW MUSIC: Nero – Won’t You (Be There)

For those Dubstep fans out there, one of my favorites, Nero is back and bigger than ever. ‘Won’t You’ has a Nero’s signature sound to it, but seeing as I’m not the biggest Dubstep fan, I wouldn’t know where to begin to give my input on this song. When it comes to Dubstep, I either like it, or I don’t. When it comes to Nero, I usually like it, and that goes the same with this track.

Enjoy!

NEW MUSIC: Lyrica Anderson – Mixtape [Ft. Missy Elliott]

My interest with Lyrica Anderson sparked after randomly seeing her on stage at this years SXSW in Austin,TX. I then looked up what she had going for her and had further interest after hearing ‘Love Me‘, now she is ready to release her mixtape King Me. Now with the help of the returning Missy Elliott on her fire verse, Lyrica gives us some smooth R&B to jam to as ‘mixtape’ is her first single off her new, well, mixtape.

Lyrica Anderson just keeps getting better and better, and when her mixtape drops tomorrow, I’m sure it could give her a place in the spotlight. King Me is out tomorrow!

ACOUSTIC: Jody Brock – Another Dance

Thanks to the amazing videos from SB.TV, I have found new talent gold also known as Jody Brock. As soon as he sang his first notes, I had to find out everything possible about him. He is pretty fresh on the music scene so he doesn’t have many tracks out yet, just a couple of amazing youtube covers and this video is all I could find for now. I expect that to change in the future for sure, this guy has so much talent, he makes it look so easy.

Everyone should keep an eye out for this guy, I seriously hope his talent crosses over to us the in the states, because I’m already to hear him on the radio.

Long Live Music supports Jody Brock!

NEW VIDEO: Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing [Ft. Florence Welch]

Super producer of the moment, Calvin Harris, gives his soon to be smash single ‘Sweet Nothing’ visual treatment. The ever so talented Florence Welch looks stunning, even with the slack back, boy-ish looking hair, and her voice sounds just as good. The charts are going to eat up this track as soon as it gets some more exposure.

NEW VIDEO: OneDirection – Live While We’re Young

Yes, I admit I have a small liking to OneDirection, I’m not exactly sure what it is, but I do.

Now that it’s been said, let’s move on to the song/video. Nothing to in depth about the video, just like the others it shows boys being boys. A couple of group shots to show of their good looks, and a catchy yet suggestive song behind it. ‘Live While We’re Young’ is basically talking about ‘getting some’, and guess who will be singing along to this song? That’s right, everyone from the ages of 5 to16, perfect.

That being said, it is yet another smash hit for the boys, and easily fits on the radio. OneDirection is not going anywhere anytime soon, so they might as well take advantage of it while they can. I’ll be singing along to this in about a week.

NEW VIDEO: AlunaGeorge – Your Drums, Your Love

AlunaGeorge releases visuals for their fantastic single ‘Your Drums, Your Love’. The video doesn’t do much as far as plot goes, but visually there is a lot going on with the dancers in the background which is what I was concentrated most on. Not much else to say except that AlunaGeorge is one to watch out for as far as the newcomers go for!

NEW VIDEO: Nelly Furtado – Parking Lot

I have to admit, when first hearing this song I really didn’t like it at all. Now, after multiple listens, this is one of my favorite cuts from the album. Although the video doesn’t do much, something about it appeals to me, whether it’s Nelly looking fantastic, or just the concept of the video itself. Either way awesome video for an equally awesome song!

I want for her to have a hit so bad, she deserves it!
