NEW VIDEO: Iggy Azalea – Team

I’m just now hearing this new Iggy track, and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. When I first listened to it, I thought it was a jam. I have listened to it a couple of times since then and I just don’t see the star quality in her.

She had huge success with “Black Widow” and to me, that was about it. This song is missing a feature and lacking a catchy chorus. To be honest, that is all Iggy’s major hits were good for. She also took the Justin Bieber route in making a dance video for this track, which we all know the Biebs can’t be taken down at this moment.

I don’t see this track doing well, and I’m calling another failure by Iggy. Bye.

NEW MUSIC: Craig David x Blonde – Nothing Like This

If you haven’t heard already, Craig David is killing the game right now. His comeback single, “When The Bassline Drops” is still charting over seas and still on heavy rotation on my playlist at least.Sadly he hasn’t had success over here just yet, but when it comes to this genre of music we are seriously slow.

“Nothing Like This” is yet another dance floor smash. The combination of Craig and Blonde is exactly what he needed as a follow up. He keeps it smoother and yet still has its heavy drop. This track is going to do wonders over seas, and I hope he finally finds some success with it in the US.

NEW MUSIC: Ariana Grande – Dangerous Woman

I apologize for the delay on this one, sometimes I need to take a second to know every detail of the track for me to give a full review. I also wanted to see Ariana perform this track live to make my final decision on the track.

In short, this track is exactly the right step she needed to take in her career. Ariana is evolving as an artist, and transitioning from girl to woman. This song has sexy guitar solos, and Ariana’s vocals are maturing and sounding full and flawless. This track is an epic ballad, with a very catchy chorus.

Although this track is fantastic, I don’t see it being a hit for that long. Pop music is giving us some of the best music right now. (See Meghan Trainer’s ‘No’) That being said, Ariana has a fighting chance, and this is the closest thing to a ballad that she has released to the airwaves. She definitely could have given us more on this track because we all know the girl can sing.

Ariana is slowly selling me on this new album, and I really hope there are more ballads that are released by her, because she definitely has that advantage over any pop star right now.

NEW MUSIC: Zayn – Like I Would

The era of Zayn has just taken a turn for the best. He has just given us another cut from his Mind of Mine album, and although it is very different from his previous releases, “Like I Would” gives us a more upbeat, sexy feel.

While I wasn’t as impressed with, “It’s You” as I was with “Pillowtalk”, this track definitely restores my faith in his album. It seems there is a common theme throughout his album, and that is sex. He is playing with his strengths, and although production is huge on this track, his smooth, unique voice fits so perfectly over this beat.

Each track has definitely had a different sound so far, but it all fits together as one. Zayn is on track for a big debut with the way he is going. If you haven’t checked out the official track list to Mind of Mine, I have listed it after the jump!

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Leroy Sanchez

This time around for my Artist Spotlight feature, I have given the spotlight to the talented vocalist known as, Leroy Sanchez. I stumbled upon his Youtube covers a little bit ago, and I can’t get enough of his vocal ability.

I’m not sure where he is in his career, all I know is that he has a couple of music videos up on youtube, one of which being “By My Side”. All his videos were released over a year ago, so I’m not sure if he is still crafting his sound because it seems by his Youtube covers that he is definitely maturing as an artist.

NEW VIDEO: Years & Years – Desire [Ft. Tove Lo] (Remix)

One of my favorite bands to come out of the past 5 years, has definitely been the trio Years & Years. With the song growing in popularity, it is only right that they bring in indie ‘it’ girl, Tove Lo, for the remix of ‘Desire’.

I really hope that his remix gives the push this gem needs to break the USA because they are such a talented band. The song didn’t need any help to begin with, it is a certified smash, but the addition of Tove Lo will give it some more credibility for sure.

If you remember correctly the music video was released in 2014, and they have just given it more life by adding a whole new spin. It follows the song lyrics more closely, almost portraying a giant orgy in a way. I feel like front man Olly Alexander had something to do with the concept of the new video. I love the song either way, and I seriously hope this band does well over here!

Now, I will just wait patiently for new Years & Years music.

NEW MUSIC: MK & Becky Hill – Piece of Me

This song first debuted in live form at Pete Tong’s rooftop party, and after I heard it, I was waiting anxiously to hear it in it’s full form. MK finally let us hear it earlier today, and it is definitely a smash. Becky Hill’s unique vocals soar over the piano based house beat. This is sure to be a dance club smash playing over seas very soon.

NEW MUSIC: Tinie Tempah – Girls Like [Ft. Zara Larsson]

One of my favorite artists is back, and seriously killing the game with this track. Tinie found success this summer with his smash Jess Glynn collaboration,”Not Letting Go“. Now he is back and ready to take over the dance floor again with his Zara Larsson assisted track, “Girls Like”.

This track is a serious smash, and gives me vibes from Tinie’s Swedish House Mafia track. The track is filled with pulsating house beats, with Zara Larsson giving us some serious vocals in this infectious chorus. This track is sure to be a smash soon, and hopefully USA catches up to this dance floor ready track!!

NEW MUSIC: Zayn – iTS YoU

After following up his smash solo debut, “Pillowtalk”, Zayn gives us his second single off his album, Mind of Mine. The album cover is featured above.

I first heard the song performed live on Jimmy Fallon, and have to admit, he didn’t really sell me at all. The production sounded fantastic, but it felt like it was lacking something vocally. The band and stage kind of made the most of him and he wasn’t really the focus anymore. Soon after, he released the studio version, and I fell in love.

The whole track has remnants of a Frank Ocean track at times, and during the chorus Zayn’s trademark falsetto vocals shine. It is very haunting and mysterious, which is kind of how his image was portrayed throughout his One Direction years.

I’m still here for this mans solo career, although I do think he needs to work on his live vocals. He is still new to the solo scene, there is massive potential there so I really think it will shine. I am also curios to see how he will tour, will it be intimate, or because of his fan-base will he start off in stadiums.
