NEW MUSIC: Ariana Grande – Let Me Love You [Ft. Lil Wayne]

Ariana Grande is back at it again.

I have been a huge fan of everything she has released so far from this album, and now we have “Let Me Love You” featuring Lil Wayne. I have to say, this is amazing. Ariana has stepped up her game so much in terms of maturing and evolving her sound, from bubblegum pop, to almost a straight R&B vibe on this track. I don’t care too much for Wayne, but it definitely gives the track some more flavor.

I am actually most impressed with the production aspect of all these tracks. Ariana has taken it to a place where her vocals really shine and flow so smoothly.

Listen to the track below, and if you haven’t seen the VERY intriguing track list for her upcoming album, check it out after the jump!

NEW MUSIC: AlunaGeorge – I Remember

Cf8l77SUUAALdJJ

I’m so happy to hear AlunaGeorge going back to their roots with this new track, “I Remember”. After hitting MAJOR success with their DJ Snake remix of “I Know You Like It”, the duo has decided to give us more of what I love from them from their Body Music days. They have returned to their more indie sound and collaborating with another huge talent that has been slowly gaining success with his hit, “Never Be Like You”, Flume. You can easily hear the Flume influenced production behind the smooth and sexy AlunaGeorge vocals.

I’m loving this, and this is where AlunaGeorge needs to stay. Can’t wait to hear new music form this era!

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Citizen Shade

maxresdefault (4)

A little late on April’s Artist Spotlight, but better late than never!

This month I decided to share the talent known as Citizen Shade. I instantly fell in love with their cover of Rihanna’s “Work” (featured below), which I stated should be the only version of the song that is out. To be honest, I’m still not sure if Citizen Shade is a duo or what, but I don’t really care because I have no preference either way. I will just refer to them as a duo from here on out.

Here is their cover of Rihanna’s “Work”

After the jump, you will find more covers from this amazing duo.

NEW VIDEO: BeBe Rexha – No Broken Hearts [Ft. Nicki Minaj]

BeBe Rexha is the new “It” girl after taking huge success with her G-Eazy collaboration “Me Myself and I”. Now she is taking a turn a stepping out from behind the scenes and breaking out on her own. She has written some monster hits for some huge superstars including Eminem, Rihanna, Tinashe and David Guetta. I always have huge respect for talents that step out and decide it is their turn to take the spotlight.

“No Broken Hearts” isn’t anything amazing, but it is the perfect debut single for her. I mentioned in another post about the female empowerment run on the airwaves that we have, and this fits perfectly in line with it. It’s fun, it is a little ratchet thanks to Nicki and it’s catchy.

Don’t see it doing too well on the charts, but like I said, she is just getting started.

NEW MUSIC: Jennifer Lopez – Ain’t Your Mama

jlo-aint-your-mama

I have very mixed feelings about Jennifer Lopez, she releases bangers but they still don’t compare to old school Jenny from the block. I’m still here for J.Lo because I believe she can perform a track like not many pop stars can today. She knows her strengths as an entertainer and she definitely can put on a show.

“Ain’t Your Mama” doesn’t compare to “On The Floor”, it is a lot more pulled back and reserved. It is a very smart move considering Rihanna is all over the radio at the moment and the reggae, dance floor vibe feeling is definitely the right move right now. There is also a female empowerment movement going on over the airwaves with Adele, Rihanna, Beyonce and soon to be BeBe Rexha taking over.

I don’t see this song being a number 1 hit at all, but I could be proven wrong after she performs this tonight on the Idol Finale. I believe this song will have a quick idol run then fade, but I’m glad to see she is back in the studio.

NEW VIDEO: Katy B – I Wanna Be [Ft. Chris Lorenzo]

Alright, there are no words for how amazing this new Katy B album is sounding. She has given us so many bangers from the album and there is still so many more tracks to come. The Craig David assisted ballad, “Who Am I” is still on heavy rotation, but this track might take the top spot for me.

“I Wanna Be” is definitely gives a nostalgic, euphoric, almost 90’s dance floor rave feel and it is absolutely fantastic. Katy B has proven that this album may be her strongest effort yet, she has been so versatile on every track giving us a different side of her.

Unfortunately we still have wait a little longer for her album, Honey, to drop. The album is due out April 29th.

I want to start some sort of petition to bring her to the USA because I have been waiting so long, and her talent needs to spread!t

NEW VIDEO: Parson James – Temple

If you haven’t noticed, I have been a huge supporter of Parson James for quite some time now, and now that he has branched out on his own, I’m here for every moment. “Temple” is definitely one of my favorites off a fantastic EP, which if you haven’t heard it, I highly suggest you check it out.

Parson James recently gained a spike in popularity from American Idol, when one of our favorites Trent Harmon, recently covered his moving “Waiting Game“. It was a beautiful and soulful performance that you really must check out.

I have linked a Spotify stream after the jump if you haven’t heard the empowering, take you to church, The Temple EP.

NEW MUSIC: Skizzy Mars – Recognize [Ft. JoJo]

jojo-skizzy

I actually have no clue who Skizzy Mars, but everyone knows I’m here for anything JoJo related. This track definitely has me intrigued to check out Skizzy, he has a very smooth and chill vibe to him that works perfectly for the summer.

“Recognize” is almost a futuristic hip-hop vibe that I’m loving at the moment, while JoJo adds the perfect chorus to tie the song together. Take a listen to the track below, I’m going to look deeper into Skizzy Mars to see what other gems I find!

Patiently waiting for JoJo to drop that album in the meantime.

NEW VIDEO: Leroy Sanchez & Jessica Sanchez – The Feeling (Justin Bieber Cover)

My favorite cover king, Leroy Sanchez, is back and stronger than ever, this time with the very talented Jessica Sanchez (Idol season 11 runner up). This time Leroy and Jessica give us their spin on one of my favorite cuts from Justin Bieber’s album, Purpose, “The Feeling”.

We featured Leroy on our Artist Spotlight feature for March, and this cover definitely backs up our reason behind it. Leroy and Jessica’s vocals flow so effortlessly together, and while this isn’t the first duet they have done, this is my favorite.

Anyway, enough of my rant about their talent. Check out the video, and our Artist Spotlight series for more information!

NEW MUSIC: Ariana Grande – Be Alright

dangerous-woman-ariana-grande-thatgrapejuice-600x600

Ariana first premiered this track on SNL last week, and the internet fell in love. Ariana’s first attempt, “Dangerous Women” was a smash in my books. If you haven’t seen her singing acoustically in a strange bunny mask, I highly suggest you do because it will give you more confidence in her amazing vocal ability.

“Be Alright” is equally as amazing, she took it somewhere else with production. She kept her safe upbeat, radio friendly sound but that production is what takes it to another level. It is almost Jamie XX sounding at points, and definitely giving this radio pop a much needed change up.

I’m impressed with everything Ariana has done this era, and I have to say while I wasn’t a huge fan of her vocals before, she has definitely matured.
