NEW MUSIC: Lorde – Liability

download

Lorde tries to gain more momentum after releasing the Taylor Swift B-side, “Green Light“, giving us a softer side on “Liability”. The track is under 3 minutes, and actually isn’t terrible. It is a pretty basic track overall, but it gives a chance to listen to Lorde’s actual vocals without all that production behind it.

“Liability” is beautiful to an extent, it is definitely not the trademark Lorde sound that I’m waiting to hear, but it is a step in the right direction. That being said, I don’t find myself coming back to this track anytime soon, and my excitement for Melodrama is slowly fading.

Lorde’s “comeback” album, Melodrama, is due out June 16th. So far, definitely not worth the money.

JUST LISTEN: MiC Lowry – Sweet Love (Anita Baker Cover)

In honor of the talents, MiC Lowry, dropping their next single “Whiskey Kisses” at midnight, we give you a little acoustic session from them. The amazingly talented five-some has done some serious work since being featured in our Artist Spotlight series last year, and now gives Anita Baker some “Sweet Love”.

MiC Lowry has toured with Justin Bieber, and has massive success with their smash “Oh Lord“. They just made their debut television performance of “Oh Lord” on the Wendy Williams show yesterday.

We can’t wait to hear their new single tonight, and everything else this group has to offer!

NEW VIDEO: THEY. – What You Want

I have been a huge fan of THEY. for quite some time, and I now realize that I haven’t shown them any love on the blog. What a perfect way to start off by introducing you to THEY. with their super dope visuals for “What You Want”. THEY. have taken the dying art of a music video and done something completely unusual and well, trippy.

If you are fan of “What You Want”, I’ll include a link to stream their newest album after the jump! I highly recommend you check it out!

NEW MUSIC/VIDEO: Lorde – Green Light

Lorde has finally made her long awaited comeback dropping a new track and visuals for her return! “Green Light” is definitely something very unexpected that we are used to hearing from the quirky songstress.

Lorde gives us an almost brighter sound with production that could easily be fit for Taylor Swift or Coldplay, and while that isn’t the worst comparison, it is for Lorde. Her 2013 album, Pure Heroin, broke boundaries and changed the music game giving life to artists like Flume and Kiiara. “Green Light” just kind of falls flat for me, and there is nothing there to stand out.

In addition, she has given us the title of her upcoming album, Melodrama, which she says is inspired by David Bowie. I’m still slightly interested in hearing it, so hopefully her next single will change the game again.

NEW VIDEO: Bruno Mars – That’s What I Like

Bruno Mars just killed the visuals for this track. 24k Magic is still on repeat, even at 9 tracks long, the album is legendary. He did something completely different from this video. No big productions like his previous track “24k Magic“, no fancy sets, just him and some seriously cool drawings to match the lyrics.

Bruno Mars is a legend.

NEW VIDEO: Dua Lipa – Thinking ‘Bout You

Dua Lipa has been slowly on the rise for the past year now. She was one of our Artists To Watch of 2016, and with 2017 coming to a start she gives us the visuals from what may be one of my favorite tracks from her. “Thinking ‘Bout You’ is so simple yet gives us so much.

Dua’s vocals are absolutely unreal on this track which is what instantly draws me. The video is simple, giving us Dua in her minimal form, but that allows the track to speak for itself. Just watch it, you won’t be disappointed.

NEW VIDEO: Ed Sheeran – Eraser (SBTV)

For those that don’t know, I discovered the legend that is Ed Sheeran from SB.TV 7 years ago from their A64 sessions. With the 10 year reunion of their amazing website being today, they bring it back to artists that started it all. We have Ed Sheeran giving us a little F64 of a track from his newest album Divide, “Eraser”.

After the jump, I included the video that started it all for me. I highly recommend you check it out!

NEW VIDEO: Swindle x Daley – Sympathy

We finally have the visuals for the very funky collaboration between Swindle and one of my favorites, Daley. This video has so much life within it, the colors just accent the track so much more. The track overall is a feel good track, and the video gives off some seriously feel good vibes too.

Side note, it’s damn good to see Daley back on the screen!

NEW MUSIC: Calvin Harris – Slide [Ft. Frank Ocean & Migos]

calvin-harris-slide-frank-ocean

Calvin Harris has been killing the game lately, from releasing to the smash of last year “This is What You Came For” to now releasing the track of the summer, “Slide”. I was a bit hesitant when I heard that Migos was an added feature, but I have to say they killed it.

Frank ocean smoothly coasts over the disco fused production. This track is easily the perfect recipe for a chart takeover. Calvin Harris recently put out a statement to say that uplifting music is missing from the world, and vows to bring it back. “Slide” being the perfect example of that.

Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: Stanaj – Bad Woman

Our favorite, Stanaj, is back with visuals for a track off his is smash EP From A Distance. “Bad Woman” is another huge track for this talent, along with many others on the EP. The video see’s Stanaj showing his swag with a mystery girl in various shots. It’s a simple yet effective music video, and I have to say the track speaks for itself anyway.

If you haven’t checked out the EP From a Distance, I highly suggest you do that right now.
