NEW VIDEO: Years & Years – Worship

The best thing I can do with this video is leave it here for you to watch.

I have to take a moment to really give Years & Years some credit. Pop music is missing depth and lyrics lately, but front runner Olly Alexander, has been able to give that back to the music. There is a lot to be said about this video and what it stands for, and it is difficult to put into words, but there is a fantastic interview with the creators and Olly about the whole thing.

Olly had a very meaningful quote in the article that stood out, and I will leave that below. Just watch the video and appreciate the art that is coming back through music.

“We’re all more alike than we are different, but we are multidimensional and sometimes I feel there’s not enough room in the mainstream to express that.” -Olly Alexander

NEW MUSIC: Rihanna – Sledgehammer

rihanna-sledgehammer1

After Rihanna failed to impress me with her latest album, Anti, I have been waiting for something else from her to restore my faith in her. She has been teasing this for a couple of days now, and we finally get the release of “Sledgehammer” which is part of the soundtrack of the new Star Trek movie.

This track isn’t great, but it is definitely a lot better than anything on her album. After her previous Mike Will Made-It track, “Nothing is Promised“, and now we have this, I am slowly becoming a Rihanna fan once again.

“Sledgehammer” shows off the powerfully unique vocals while belting over a slow building anthem track. I’m not sure what kind of impact this will have on the movie, but I have to say that I am loving this track for her.

She seems to be every where after the release of her album, probably to make up for keeping us waiting for that long and then being significantly underwhelming.

Take a listen to “Sledgehammer” below via Spotify.

NEW MUSIC: Leo Kalyan – Lean On & On

leo-kalyan_jwfve5

I needed a minute to absorb everything that is happening in this track before I was able to post it.

Leo Kalyan just gained so much respect for smashing this mash-up of Major Lazer and Erykah Badu. With his recent release of visuals from “Daydream”, he continues his reign combining so many influences from every genres.

This track is the perfect blend of sexy and soulful to make one incredible mash-up by a rising talent. Leo doesn’t quite have an album under his belt yet, but I feel it will be a big one that can stand alongside the likes of Jamie Woon and James Blake.

NEW MUSIC:Lee Walker vs DJ Deeon – Freak Like Me [Ft. Katy B]

I have been a fan of the original version of this track already, so when they decided to throw one of my favorites, Katy B, into the mix, I was more than welcoming. This track is an absolute dance floor smash, and it is already doing wonders over seas in the UK.

Still waiting patiently for Katy B to make her USA tour, but till then I will keep her album Honey, on heavy rotation.

Take a listen to the smash below!

NEW VIDEO: Fifth Harmony – All In My Head (Flex) [Ft. Fetty Wap]

I don’t know where to being with Fifth Harmony except for the fact that they are absolutely smashing it right now.

I am so impressed with how far this group has come with just 2 albums under their belt, these girls are, hopefully, here to stay. With groups coming from X-factor not having the longest reign because they do go to audition wanting to be solo stars, you never really know. Although as solo’s, I honestly don’t see any of them having as much of an impact as the group. “Work From Home” is one of the biggest female led songs in history, and while I wasn’t as impressed with their 7/27 album as I was with their Reflection album, they are moving in the right direction and I have so much respect for that.

Enough about my rant, just watch the video, these girls are going places!

NEW VIDEO: Leroy Sanchez – I Miss You (Adele Cover)

I always try and keep up with our previous Artist Spotlights whenever they bring us new things. When they are as busy grinding as Leroy Sanchez is, it is hard to keep up but then you watch some of their material and just stop and have to share.

My favorite covers from him have been his Adele covers, and this one is no exception. There is so much emotion, and not to mention the vocal ability on this man just gets better and better each time.

If you didn’t know Leroy Sanchez is going on tour with the talented, Boyce Avenue, which you can find tickets for here!

NEW MUSIC: Troye Sivan – Wild [Ft. Alessia Cara]

troye-sivan-wild-alessia-cara-cover-413x413

Troye Sivan, one of my all time favorites, has released the infectious “Wild”, as his next single and it features the amazing rising star, Alessia Cara. Troye doesn’t need any more praise from me, but Alessia deserves a lot for taking this already amazing track to another level.

Troye’s collaborations have always been somewhat low-key and it worked out for him perfectly because his album, Blue Neighbourhood, was one of my favorites of last year. While they are both still somewhat rising stars, Alessia’s raw, soulful vocals flow perfectly along side Troye’s innocent and emotional sound.

These guys are going far in the business, I can bank on that.

NEW MUSIC: Usher – Crash

usher-640x427

Usher has always been hit or miss for me over the past couple of years, but it seems he is slowly catching his stride with a string of releases such as, “Good Kisser”, “There Goes My Baby”, “I Don’t Mind”, and a few others.

Usher is finally making his return with the release of “Crash”. This radio friendly smash is perfection, it is synth filled magic under a silk falsetto by the R&B star. Usher has also released a more urban flavor track featuring Young Thug, “No Limit“, which I wasn’t as much of a fan but it is safe to say that Usher is doing it right this time around.

Take a listen to “Crash” below!

NEW MUSIC: DJ Khaled – For Free [Ft. Drake]

dj-khaled-drake-for-free

A little slow on this one, but I haven’t been able to find a good quality for this track yet since it isn’t officially out yet.

Anyway, I haven’t really cared for DJ Khaled as of late, but he is making big moves in his career opening for Beyonce on her Formation tour so I can respect that. DJ Khaled makes a very smart with this one giving the man who has one of the biggest albums of the year to feature on his newest single, Drake.

I actually love this track, it isn’t anything special but it is perfect for the summer time. Drake keeps his momentum going from his album, Views, with his bars on this track.

There really isn’t anything else to say about it, its the perfect move for both of them and it is going to generate a smash.

NEW VIDEO: MNEK – At Night (I Think About You)

If you don’t know MNEK by now, you are seriously missing out. He recently gave us his newest banger, “At Night”, and now he gives us the visuals that accompany the song. I really have nothing else to say about this track because I have loved everything that MNEK has put out, and this is no exception. So just enjoy it, and educate yourself on this talent if you haven’t already!
