NEW MUSIC: Disclosure – Latch [Ft. Sam Smith]

Disclosure has released a new soulful single featuring the equally soulful Sam Smith titled ‘Latch’. I’m not sure who this Sam Smith is, but I will definitely look into him after hearing his vocals on this track. There is nothing bad to say about this track, it’s a disclosure track, it falls in the same perfect category. I would even go as far as saying this could be one of my favorite tracks from them yet.

Anyway take a listen below!

2012 VMA Performances

This years VMA’s consisted of a lot of OneDirection and Rihanna, but as far as performances go, Frank Ocean slayed all. Although He didn’t win anything, he definitely took the crown home for best performance of the night, while Rihanna was busy giving shade to everyone on stage. Pink has had way better performances in her time, but she can still do no wrong. To take the words from someone on my Twitter feed, Rihanna sounded like a goat swinging on a rope, but looked fantastic. OneDirection featured screaming girls on their track. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz tried to be energetic and make rap seem cool and it failed. Alicia Keys performed her failure of a song while also having pretty horrible vocals, which is usually not like her, then brought out the failure Minaj to finish it off.

Take a look after the break!

NEW MUSIC: Big Sean, Jay-Z, Kanye West – Clique

I really haven’t been a fan of Rap music lately, and I really don’t like Kanye West, but I do have to say, all 3 of these rappers go pretty damn hard on this track. It gives the G.O.O.D music album some life, and I can actually get behind it. I look forward to seeing what else these guys have in store. I also like how Jay-Z threw in Rihanna AND Beyonce in his rap.

NEW VIDEO: Alpines – Got Me Wrong

UK talent, Alpines, are quickly becoming a force with this new release of ‘Got Me Wrong’. They first caught my attention with their release of ‘Empire’ which sounded very Florence and the Machines like, and now with this new release, I’m not sure how to pin their genre. It’s very electro-pop with a big backing beat, and I have to say its awesome! Alpines are definitely ones to watch out in the future, and I believe their debut album is due out in October!

NEW VIDEO: Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen

Ellie Goulding gives us some pretty stunning visuals for her new single ‘Anything Could Happen’. While the rest of America is just now getting hooked on her debut single ‘Lights’, Ellie is moving forward in the best way possible, although I’m not sure ‘Anything Could Happen’ will get much chart success here in the US just yet, but give it some time and I think everyone will grow to love her.

NEW MUSIC: Daley – Remember Me [Ft. Jessie J]

Those of you who have been following the site probably saw my entry on Daley a while back, since then he has been teasing us with countless pictures in the studio with some big name artists. Finally he releases his Debut single from his upcoming album! Accompanied by the soulful Jessie J, Daley throws his own amazing vocals down on an equally amazing beat that just makes magic. Daley is bringing back the meaning of R&B with this, and I have no doubt that his album will be amazing, now I just need a USA tour from him before he hits the big time!

Daley has been on my radar since his first couple of youtube videos, and now he has an album in the works, I have no doubt that he will be big in no time at all, especially after this single!

Take a listen below, and if you haven’t downloaded his FREE mixtape, DO IT NOW!

NEW MUSIC: Alicia Keys – Girl on Fire [Ft. Nicki Minaj]

Alicia Keys makes a return with ‘Girl on Fire’, the new single off her upcoming album. As far as this track goes, well, it’s horrible. Alicia Keys needs to be progressing in her career, and this track does the opposite of that. The worst part is she released the track with three different versions, and they all suck. It’s nice to hear her back on a track, and her vocals are spot on, but this does absolutely nothing for anyone listening. The beat is plain, the lyrics are about woman empowerment, which has been done way too many times before, and it’s about time to move on.

This particular version features Nicki Minaj, who usually slays a feature, and yet this time she also fails. I don’t see this track doing well at all, any of the versions. I have heard that her album will feature the likes of Emeli Sande, and Jamie XX, which is promising. I think both of these artists could do wonders for her progression as far as music goes. We will wait and see.

Take a listen below, and lets see what you think.

Take a listen to the ‘Blue Light Version‘ and the ‘Original Version‘, if you think its worth your time.

NEW MUSIC: Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing [Ft. Florence Welch]

Calvin Harris teams up with the amazing Florence Welch to create the masterpiece known as ‘Sweet Nothing’. Calvin Harris previously remixed ‘Spectrum’ which took over the UK airwaves, and now is back with this smash hit that is just waiting to be played out. Calvin Harris steps away from the repetitive hard hitting dance beat we are used to hearing, and gives it a more chill vibe as Florence adds her amazing vocals on top of a perfectly made song. It is only a matter of time before this track gets played every where possible, so enjoy it now before you hate it.

NEW MUSIC: No Doubt – Push and Shove

No Doubt is coming so strong with their long awaited comeback, first with their ‘Settle Down’ single, and now with the Major Lazer produced ‘Push and Shove’. This track is absolutely amazing in every way possible. This is just the Radio Rip version, but you can tell its going to take over the airwaves in a matter of time. It’s catchy, and definitely well produced, and just sounds awesome! Can’t wait to see what else No Doubt has in store.
